The Portfolio Concept

When first meeting with a European collector in 1976, Paul Conway was privileged to view his collection of published portfolios by some of the great Art Publishing Houses of Europe. Houses like The Maeght (Spain) and Petersburg Press (England) had a long tradition of collaborating with artists on projects in a multi-image portfolio concept.
The concept was intriguing, and it occurred to him that in the same way the European Houses did multiple images by one artist, a concept where several artists produce complimentary images in a portfolio format could be equally exciting.

The key was to achieve a balance between each piece so that they worked with the others in the Portfolio.

artsandbox.com's Portfolio Collection is the culmination of this concept. Each Portfolio brings together some of the best Canadian artists' work in a format that offers collectors an unparalleled selection of works in a format unique in the art world.

Each Portfolio comes individually packaged in a limited-edition case with a full colaphon. Viewings of each piece are available, as is framing.
